1. Do you prefer pie filling or the crust?
2. What’s the last thing you bought?
3. What’s your personal style?
1. Oh pie, isn't it a package deal? I love the whole thing ... The filling perfectly compliments the crust and the crust is the perfect carrier for the filling. I love them equally :)
2. The last thing I bought was postage to mail my interlibrary loans back to Spokane, WA!
3. I'm trendy classic. I wear a lot of skirts and jewel tones. In fact, I'm a big fan of jewel tones, meaning amethyst, emeralds, sapphires, rubies, etc. Washed out colors=washed out me. Stick with something solid, but with color.
The main places I shop are at Ann Taylor Loft, Gap, Target, and Banana Republic. I like trends, but I don't like craziness. If it doesn't work for my body, then I don't attempt it. Just because it's fashionable, doesn't mean it will look good. And I dress my age, meaning no shopping in the juniors department.

Three Question Thursday
I am wickedly sore. We do pilates on Tues and Thurs over lunch at work. And this past week our instructor has made class brutal. My calf muscles ache and sometimes I have a sharp shot of pain that runs through my abs. And my butt hurts just sitting. Good gracious. I am an old lady. You should see my crazy left arm vibrate while trying to do full out side planks. It's quite ridiculous.
Moving on. Three Question Thursday from Iowa Girl Eats
1. Would you rather smell like black licorice or garlic for the rest of your life?
2. Who’s your favorite talk show host between Oprah, Ellen, Tyra and Dr. Phil?
3. What’s your favorite Halloween candy?
1. Both are bad options. I guess I would go for black licorice ... at least no one would think I have vampire issues
2. Oprah. But not crying/weepy/abuse Oprah, more the make-over/giveaway/celebrity Oprah. I never watch talk shows. Unless an occasional half episode of Martha counts.
3. I love candy. I love kit kats, twixes, nerds. I love it all. All the time.
It's Grey's Anatomy time!!

Three Question Thursday
Here's Three Question Thursday comin at ya straight from Iowagirleats.com
1. How do you like your eggs?
Scrambled eggs give me the willies. I think it's the texture. In fact, most eggs give me the willies. I like them fried hard or hard boiled. But I won't eat the yolk of a hard boiled egg. Or I like them in egg salad or as deviled eggs!
2. Would you rather be stung by a bee in the eyelid or have a giant catfish think your finger is bait and clamp onto your hand? (You can thank Bear Grylls for that question…)
Stung by a bee in the eyelid. I imagine massive swelling, but better than a catfish flapping about and making my hand bleed or fall off.
3. What was last year’s Halloween costume?
Haha. Last year Lance and went to a couple of costume parties where Lance was the hunter and I was a deer. I dressed in brown and had antlers. Lance dressed in hunting gear orange and carried a fake bow and arrow. I wanted something inexpensive and the only things I bought were the antlers and the bow and arrow. I'll need to dig up a photo of that ...
I'm getting excited for season premiere week next week on ABC ... Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters. And now I'm enjoying Glee and I've always loved the SUMMER show of So You Think You Can Dance?. I feel a littl over capacity now that it's on this fall too. Obviously, I watch too much tv. Thank goodness for TiVo otherwise I wouldn't ever see anything.
Here's a great giveaway that you should read about or even participate in!

Three Question Thursday
1. Would you rather live in a place that’s always cloudy but warm, or always sunny but cold?
2. Are you a city, town or country person at heart?
3. Where were you born?
1. I would choose sunny but cold. Granted, this is coming at the end of the summer when I'm sick of the heat and ready for the respite of fall. I love the bright clearness of a sunny winter day.
2. I am a city girl. This reminds me of the third grade play I was in "The City and the Country Mouse." I played the city mouse. I'm still a city girl - I would hate to live more than 30 minutes to the nearest Target or mall. This is somewhat problematic as DH would prefer to live in the country.
3. Seoul, South Korea. I often have the question "where you from?" If someone asks me that I will tell them Sioux City, IA. This will elicit more "no, where you from?" (said in a very bad Asian accent, typically at a nail salon- ask me to do it for you sometime, it will crack you up). I will then repeat Sioux City. I feel no need to explain my entire childhood and life to a complete stranger. Mind your own business. I don't walk around asking African Americans if they're from Mozambique.

Three Question Thursday
1. What’s one of your vices?
3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Lateness. Good gracious, I run late to everything. We have yet to make the opening song at church for the 8 am service. Usually I am running into the building I work at with two minutes to spare. I am not a morning person and it shows. Those who sit by me know that I do not converse until 10 am.
My second vice ... shopping. I cannot resist a good deal. If it's on sale, I can justify!
2. What’s one dish you ate growing up that you have fond memories of?
Stove top stuffing. I have distinct memories of my dad making a box of stuffing (and only a box of stuffing) for dinner while my mom was off doing other things. Not exactly a balanced meal, but I was as happy as a clam.

3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Five years ... I will be 31 and one year away from getting my French bulldog (side note: Lance told me that I have to be 32 before we can get a dog). Perhaps there will be a child in my life and perhaps I will either have done something fabulous with this master's degree I am slaving away at or I'll be working part-time and staying home part-time with aforementioned child. Either possibility would be nice!

Three Question Thursday
Everyone, we have air conditioning! I was so happy to have air back in our house, I thought that I could hug our new system. That's right, I said NEW air conditioning and furnace. I'm very happy to have this, after a huge fiasco with the heating & cooling company we decided this would be the best use of our money. Unfortunately ... this means no new car for our family. But like I told Lance last night, you can't sleep and do laundry in your car. At least, I can't do any of these things without the comfort of temperate temperatures. This new system is just in time too, the Saturday temp is fore casted to be right at 96 degrees - yikes! Praise the Lord for air conditioning. I was not meant to be a pioneer. Or live in Arizona.
Onto Three Question Thursday
1. Are you a morning or night person?
2. Do you, or have you ever played an instrument?
3. What was your favorite part about going back to school when you were little?
1. I am most definitely not a morning person. If my job could started at 10:30 am, I would be a better employee. At my current job, I am required to be at work and ready at 8 am sharp. I cannot lie, this can be a struggle. I am much better suited to putting in long nights and sleeping in. This is one reason why I miss being a college student.
2. I have played several instruments. I took piano lessons for 9 years, played the trombone for 8 years, and played several drums in the band. I have not touched my trombone since I graduated from high school. We have a piano at our house, but it needs to be tuned and I am in need of some refresher lessons. Once I graduate next spring and have "free time" again, I am going to try and start playing again.
3. Oh school ... I loved school. I'm a social gal, I loved seeing all my friends and I loved seeing my favorite teachers again. But I also loved purchasing new folders, pens, binders. And planning my outfit for the first day of school. Thinking about all these things, I miss all of this just a little bit. I do not miss the blind panic of studying for tests and staying up to all hours of the night trying desperately to figure out my physics homework. I do not miss my physics teacher who also was my general science and chemistry teacher too. He was somewhat of a sadist.

Three Question Thursday
My favorite blog right now is Iowa Girl Eats because 1) She lives in Central Iowa 2) She works for the company that I would give my eye teeth to work at 3) She's cool and has very similar interests as myself. She does this great thing called "3 Question Thursday" that I thought I'd partake in today.
1. What’s your favorite part about summer? Spending time at the pool/lake/ocean? Amazing weather? Summer grill-outs?
2. Did you go to summer camp when you were a kid?
3. What’s your favorite summer vacation to date?
1. My favorite part of summer is the variety of fresh food available from my garden (I actually hate the heat and humidity of summer. And the bugs. I hate bugs. Things like roma tomatoes, cucumbers, summer squash, green peppers, sugar snap peas, etc. I need to post some produce pictures. My husband and I struggle with our garden, but this year - year three - is looking promising!
2. I did go to summer camp and I loved it! When I was younger I went to church music camp where we sang the entire week and then did a show at the end for our parents. It was fantastic and some of my favorite childhood memories. I actually went as a counselor for a week when I was in college and it brought back some great memories - just the grounds, the buildings and the traditions. I will definitely send my children away to summer camp when they are older (and of course when I have children)
3. My favorite summer vacation ... as a child it would probably be Florida, Orlando specifically. As an adult, well, Lance doesn't do vacation. He didn't grow up going on vacation and it's been a hard habit to break in our marriage. After going to Hawaii this spring, we'll be making a small trip to Michigan to see my BFF Mandy. We've talked about going to South Korea next year and I have to go out to Spokane for school, so next year there will definitely be a vacation on the calendar!
